A Safe Way to a Gin and Tonic at The Old Crescent Bakery
Thursday, 16th May 2019
The newly named The Old Crescent Bakery, a listed Georgian Townhouse has shown up many surprises during its renovations across the years. Discovering it was formally a deli/bakery serving the residents of the Royal Crescent was one, although the clues were there; including an old bread oven in one of the basement bedrooms.
Another and more recent discovery was the heavy metal safe that is built in-to the wall of the main dining space. After pondering the possible tales the safe could tell, and of course checking for gold bullion and exquisite jewels, of which we found none sadly, we set about getting creative with our new found toy…how could we use this bijoux space?!
After some deliberation we had an idea to turn our safe in-to an honesty bar, that’s right a mini bar ready to greet you and your friends on your arrival at The Old Crescent Bakery; meaning no delay to the start of your holiday.
In truth we gave the idea to our friends at Freestyle & Lime Electrical who worked their creative magic. Our honesty bar serves a classic, the Gin & Tonic. And no ordinary Gin & Tonic’s either, because the clever guys at @scoutandsage a local micro-distillery have created a special batch of gin just for us, which we hope you’ll love as much as we do…. Yes of course we had to quality test it for you!
And we have given it a big thumbs up…. So, when you arrive with us late of an evening in Bath, or an afternoon, who are we to judge! you’ll find the bar stocked ready for you, with fresh limes and ice in the fridge. Cheers.
Welcome to Bath.
Our thanks to Freestyle & Lime Electrical, who not for the first time have realised our creative ideas, and some! We think you’re gintastic!
