Best Vegetarian Restaurants in Bath
Thursday, 21st March 2019
The vegetarian food offering here in Bath has grown rapidly over the past few years. Bath is a foodie haven with a whole host of excellent eateries giving meat free and plant-based dishes equal billing on their menus alongside their meat and fish dishes.
This blog post, however, is dedicated to those restaurants and cafés that are completely meat free and good enough to shout about in their own post.
So here’s our pick of the best vegetarian restaurants in Bath:
Nourish, formerly The Beaufort on London Road is now 100% plant based restaurant with a growing reputation, especially its fish and chips dish made with banana blossom. (This writer can tell you it’s amazing!).
Acorn, a multi award-winning restaurant lead by chef and now author Richard Buckley (‘Plants Taste Better’), is a firm favourite with the Bath foodies. Please go and try the donkey carrots. Yes, you read that right!
The Green Rocket, an award-winning café/restaurant which also has a licence. Centrally located for hungry veggies.
Demuths Cookery School, okay not strictly a restaurant but deserves a place on any list of the best vegetarian restaurants in Bath because Rachel Demuth was a forerunner in the vegetarian movement and a cult hero.
Chapel Arts, offers both vegan and vegetarian dishes and champions their Sky Blue Smoothie Bowls. So that’s breakfast, brunch and lunch sorted.
Roots & Shoots, a new plant based café on the Brunel Square. They boast a vegan Mac n Cheese and an excellent chai latte…ones to watch.
Indian Temptation, this vegetarian Indian restaurant showcases both northern and southern Indian dishes on its menu, promising fusion and innovation of illicit flavours…
Beyond The Kale, this vegan café is tucked away in trendy Green Park Station and is famed for its fresh lunches to eat in or take away.
So safe to say that Bath is for food lovers, whatever their diet!
