Top 5 things to do in Bath this spring

Top 5 things to do in Bath this spring

Tuesday, 9th April 2019

It only feels like Christmas just ended, but we are now in the Easter Holidays! Spring is about to arrive in Bath and what better time of year to visit the world heritage city of Bath. Here is our list of the top 5 things to do in Bath this spring.

1. Cycling around Bath in spring

What better way to see the sites of Bath and enjoy the pale Bath stone (hopefully) bathed in the spring sunshine. The city itself is cross-sectioned by the Cycle Network, with the surrounding countryside containing many scenic cycle routes; The Two Tunnels, which forms the longest cycling tunnel in the UK; the Bristol to Bath Cycle Path; and the Kennet and Avon Canal path. Whichever way you head you’ll be in for a west country treat.

2. Afternoon Tea (with or without Champagne…)

If it’s an upmarket spring afternoon affair you want from your time in Bath, then head to The Ivy (yes that The Ivy). With an entire menu dedicated to afternoon teas you’ll be spilt for choice. Sweet or savoury are both catered for with the option to add a glass of champagne.

3. Enjoy a game at The Rec this spring

Easter signifies the start of the end of the rugby season, meaning that things are really hotting up, so what could be better than cheering on the Bath boys (or their opposition…) at a home game at famously scenic ‘The Rec’. Bath Boutique Stays offer discounted tickets when booked through our Bath Rugby Package.

4. Have a picnic in Royal Victoria Park, Bath

No list of the top 5 things to do in Bath this spring would be complete without a mention of Royal Victoria Park! On a fine weather day pack a picnic and head up to Royal Victoria Park and enjoy a day lazing around in the sun in front of the Royal Crescent. The enormous play park has a café too for a cup of coffee, or potter in to the almost secret Botanical Gardens for a super tranquil experience.

5. Take a narrowboat trip along to Kennet and Avon canal in spring time

The Bath Narrowboats Canal Experience Centre is a long established boat hire business on the Kennet and Avon Canal situated at the heart of the beautiful heritage city of Bath and provides many a group a ‘messing about on the river’ experience every year. Think beautiful scenery, a super slow pace and quality time with your party.
